Since the release of iPad in 2010, Apple still has no serious competitor to market Tablet PCs. So far there were several attempts, like that of the RIM PlayBook, with the HP TouchPad, but no one even closer to the chance to take down the "apple" from the throne. Now Google is preparing to make a competitor.
Executive President of the company Eric Schmidt confirmed that they are preparing their own tablet solution. According to him, tablets should appear for six months and have superior performance.
Currently the most serious competitor of iPad is noticeably cheaper Kindle Fire on Amazon.
The new tablet may create problems with Google's branded tablets already being developed and should work on their OS Ice Cream Sandwich.
According to some information Nexus will run on Android 4.1, while models with Ice Cream Sandwich will run on version 4.0, which could reject customers from tablets with that operating system.
Asus, Acer and Lenovo in 2012 to publish a few models with version 4.0, but may over time be upgraded with newer software.
However the success of the iPad and Kindle Fire could make part of manufacturers to change their strategy for developing tablet PCs.
I'm not sure if I'll use that. Apple just announced through Facebook that they have something to show us on the 7th of March - the post was accompanied with a picture of an iPad with the date 7th on the screen. :D Still it's good that there's some competition on the market.
